Pride of Coolidge Lodge #282 along with Mount Rose Chapter #104 and Charles H Anderson Commandery #41 Heart of Texas Guild #38 came together to help Bethesda Memorial Funeral Home put on its First Annual Back to School in the Park in Mexia, Tx.
Also on hand is Mexia’s Superintendent Dr. Sharon Ross who will bring great changes to improve education for our children.
Mexia is a city that stands behind their kids in everything that they do, and the Prince Hall York Rite Family will be there to help in any way we can.
Bro. Karl Smith talks to the kids about the importance of getting a good education and with his son at his side. He explains the motivational video that he will be showing to get them pumped for the first day of school.
Sir Knight Greer is also motivated.
Sir Knight Waples gives a speech on staying focused, and that if there is a need for help ask an adult that you trust because that is why we are here, and that you are not alone.
After the speakers and videos, everyone is ready to get those school supplies and the line is getting long.
The help from other local supporters was wonderful and everyone was busy. Miss Sharon Winslow, our sister form Killeen, Tx. came to help. She is fantastic!
Regina King was able to keep up with the long line of children that wanted their faces painted.
Mrs. Jackie Craig was also cooling off her customers with snow cones on this hot day.
WW Mr. James Smith kept the hot dogs coming for the hungry group of school ready kids and parents.
Sir Knight Waples manned the sodas while Mr. smith kept it free for all that wanted one.
Comp. Dana Busby and EHP Floyd King served this happy group of back to school goers as fast as Bro. Smith could cook them.
I would like to say thanks to Mrs. Tonya Smith for putting this together and helping to bring everyone in this community together to support the children of Mexia, Tx.
Ms. Jackie Smith speaks with Assistant Superintendent Donna Savage.
From the Prince Hall York Rite Family, we hope to see you all again next year.
